1. Minimal Student Data Collection
1.1. No Student Accounts: Quinfer does not require students to create accounts or provide email addresses.
1.2. Identity: When joining a quiz, students provide only a name. This data is used solely to identify responses for the teacher's analysis.
1.3. Device ID: We use an anonymous device identifier to prevent duplicate submissions and manage session security.
2. Teacher Information
2.1. Account Data: We collect your name, email, and profile picture via Google Authentication to manage your assessments and subscription status.
2.2. Usage Analytics: We track total AI Actions and assessment counts to enforce plan limits and improve our service.
3. AI Processing & Storage
3.1. AI Analysis: Assessment topics and student response text are processed by AI models to identify learning gaps. No personally identifiable information (PII), other than the student name entered during quiz participation, is sent to these models.
3.2. Secure Storage: Data is stored in secure cloud environments (Firebase) and accessed only by the teacher who created the diagnostic quiz session.
4. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption and secure cloud protocols to protect your data. Access to assessment results is restricted to the authenticated teacher who created the diagnostic session.
5. Educational Compliance
Quinfer is designed to assist educators. Teachers are responsible for ensuring student participation complies with local regulations such as FERPA or COPPA.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
Quinfer uses browser local storage to temporarily store assessments, session data, and responses for performance and usability purposes. Clearing browser data may remove locally stored assessments.
7. Third-Party Services
Quinfer relies on third-party services including Google Authentication, Firebase (Google Cloud), and Gumroad for subscription management. These services may process limited data necessary to provide authentication, storage, and billing functionality.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
9. Data Retention
Assessment data and responses are retained only as long as necessary to provide the service. Teachers may delete assessments from their accounts at any time.
